Moony's Plush Plaza is going to be here at the tenth Youmacon, so if you're otaku-ing it up at the convention, swing by the Artist Alley and come find me! Pssst, I'll have candy to hand out, too. It's Halloween, after all. Can't wait to see all the cosplays and whatnot. If I'm not at my table, I'm gonna be wandering around somewhere. Look for the artist badge that says Moony!

Until next time,
Cheersblackmoonflowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16336415478527086185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5604312922967607928.post-71665835067592709322014-09-01T00:06:00.003-07:002014-09-01T00:06:48.393-07:00Youmacon and New StuffHello again. It sure has been a while since my last post. I've been so busy with so many things lately that I haven't had time, but I'm still crocheting away. Still looking for new ideas for things to make, since I'll be at Youmacon X this year as more than just a con-goer. I'm going to be selling! Super nervous about it, too. I'm hoping with as expensive as preparations are, that I'll at least make decent profit. And that of course means having plenty of things made to sell.

So as a bit of a teaser, and since they've revealed a League of Legends voice actor as a guest at the convention, I've decided to try my hand at making...POROS~!

Adorable, isn't it? <3 I'm planning on making more of these if I can, maybe make different variations, like having mustaches or something (lol manly Braum). You can click the pic above to go to the etsy listing if you'd like one. Each poro comes with a delicious Poro-Snax for it to enjoy. And be sure to keep an eye on the shop for new things. I usually have something new every few weeks and there's plenty more in the making.

Until next time,
Cheers

It's been forever since I've written another post, but since I've had people asking me about this pattern, I thought I'd get my butt in gear and actually get it typed out. So, let's get started. This is what we're making! (PS. You can click the pic to see the etsy listing if you're not crochet savvy but still want one of these cuties.)

Here's what you'll need:

Size E/4 crochet hook

Worsted weight yarn of your preferred color

Your preferred stuffing material

9-10mm solid black plastic safety eyes

Small length of chain

Split key ring

Pink fabric marker

I join my rounds for this project, but you don't have to.

Front/Back: Make 2

Rnd 1: 5sc in magic ring (5sc)

Rnd 2: inc in each sc (10sc)

Rnd 3: [sc, inc] 5 times (15sc)

*3sc, ch 1, turn (3sc)

3sc, ch 1, turn (3sc)

dec across all three sc^ (1sc)*

^To do the decrease, insert the hook into the first sc and pull up a loop. Insert the hook into the next sc and pull up another loop. Then insert the hook into the last sc and pull up another loop so there is a total of four loops, then yarn over and pull through all the loops on the hook.

Fasten off, reattach yarn in the next free sc of your circle.
Repeat ** for each of the remaining points, don't fasten off after the 5th point.
Instead, ch 1 and then sc around the whole star evenly for one row and fasten off.
Attach two eyes to your front side and then sew the front and back together with wrong sides together, using the front loops from either side only.

Don't forget to stuff before completely closing up your seam.
After it's all sewn up, sew your bit of chain to the top of the star and add a little "blush" to its cheeks with your fabric marker. And then you're done! Super easy.

If you have any problems or questions, just let me know. Enjoy!

Until next time,
Nothing terribly exciting to post at the moment, though I will be putting up a free pattern quite soon. But for the moment, I'd just like to share the latest bit of inspiration I've had. Originally made for a contest on deviantART, I decided to put the finished product in my etsy shop. It's Nyan Cat! Nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan~ You can get one for yourself by clicking the image below!
I've been quite busy and have gotten a major increase in hours at my job, not to mention the amount of lost sleep with working almost every night. I've also gotten quite a bit of disappointment because I wanted to take Moony's Plush Plaza to AlmaCon 2014 since I went to that convention earlier this year and enjoyed it. But they did a poor job of contacting artists, so I'm giving up on that and will try for a different convention, perhaps a bit later next year.

In the meantime, I'm bound to be busy with the holiday rush. My poor fingers... ;~; Once things have quieted down again, hopefully I can return to my various other projects and build up my inventory. So, to anyone who reads this, I'm not dead, just floating along trying to make too many different ends meet. Here's hoping the next post will be full of good news and new products.

Until next time,
Cheersblackmoonflowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16336415478527086185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5604312922967607928.post-41797863161314642842013-08-04T21:07:00.002-07:002013-08-04T21:07:48.291-07:00New ItemsSo JAFAX 18 went okay. Not exactly as well as I'd hoped, but I still sold quite a few things. I guess my stuff's a bit on the pricey side. Still trying to figure out how to price my work, but anywho...

I've been pretty busy lately with work and new games and whatnot. Darn you and your addictiveness, Shin Megami Tensei IV... But nonetheless, I do have a couple new things available. A group I'm a part of on deviantART was having a little contest based on keychains, so I made a giant panda and red panda. They're itty bitty and fit in the palm of your hand. You can look at them in detail by clicking this picture:

I've also been making the sailor scouts from Sailor Moon and have everybody from Mercury to Pluto and even Chibi Usa and Tuxedo Mask. You can look at the gallery for those by clicking this picture:

And another thing, the patterns for both the pandas above as well as my Big Macintosh (my most popular pony) are available as well. You can check out my patterns section by clicking this picture:

So that's all for the time being, pretty much. Hopefully I can make some new things soon.

Until next time,
I've been so busy preparing for my next convention...

JAFAX 18, aw yeah.

It's gonna be sweet. Well, I hope so, anyway. I'll be cosplaying as Hilda/Touko from Pokemon Black and White at my table! Should be fun. Can't wait to see everybody! I'll have some new stuff that's not yet on my Etsy.

Speaking of which, my shop is currently on hiatus to give me more time to build up my inventory for the convention. :< Sorry, peoples, but I'll be back. And maybe you'll see me at JAFAX.

Just thought I'd share a couple new items I've added to my little shop of cuteness. First off, new keychains for you Pokemon fans out there.

That's all for now, but I have things in the works. They involve anger. And birds. And green pigs. ;3

Until next time,
February 8th through the 10th, I was in Alma, Michigan at the college there for AlmaCon 2013. I brought a big box full of my plushies to represent my business, Moony's Plush Plaza! I met many new faces and recognized some from previous conventions, and I got quite a bit of attention. I was very happy and made over $600 in sales due to some very nice people buying my wares. Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by my table!

Until next time,

Cheers
But that's okay! A new year means new beginnings and new crafts. Hopefully I'll have a little more free time...

Anywhoozles... Happy New Year to everyone who reads my crap. You'll be seeing more from me soon. I gotta buckle down for a con in February. My first time being a vendor. Pretty excited~!

I'll have more details when the con gets closer.

Until next time,
Cheersblackmoonflowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16336415478527086185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5604312922967607928.post-14937715361118934492012-12-04T10:51:00.000-08:002012-12-04T10:51:01.124-08:00Thanks for your support!I feel very proud of myself. So far, I've made over $1,000 this year on Etsy, and I couldn't have done it without the people that thought my work was worth buying. So I'm just giving a little shout out to the world. :D

Once I get caught up on orders, I'll be working on Christmas related stuff to get into the holiday spirit (even though it's 60 degrees outside in Michigan in December >.>). I'm thinking Christmas ornaments and other little things. ^_^ So keep an eye out for those.

Once again, thank you for supporting Moony's Plush Plaza!

Until next time,
So, I made these! Aren't they freakin' adorable?~ I love them, and I can make like two or three in a day if I want to.

I was gone for a while. And I've had to push some projects back. And put my shop on vacation. Why, you may ask? BECAUSE I WAS AT YOUMACON 2012, YEAH! People. Everywhere. So many cosplays. And famous people! But my adventure was spoiled...

I'm sure most of you have heard about how dangerous the city of Detroit, MI is. I for one had lived there for my first 12 years of life. I don't think it's all that bad, depending on the area. But... the truck that my friend and I had used to get there... was stolen from the hotel parking lot. Why? Because he left the keys in the ignition. And the doors can't lock. So whoever took it, I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR FREE EASY RIDE, YOU DILLWEED. And I must thank my awesome cousin-in-law for coming to our rescue and taking us all the way back home in Flint. He is my hero.

But anyway... I still had some fun. I was impressed with some of the things they had there. And I got autographs! And go look up Got Yaoi? because that was the greatest 18+ panel...EVAR. I can't go into details, but it was AMAZING. Seriously. Go find them on facebook or something. Go. Right now. And go to the Shutocon in Lansing, MI in April. I met the people who created that con during their plushie making workshop, and they are very nice and deserve support.

I will be going back to making for stuff for my Etsy shop ASAP, my work schedule permitting.

Until next time,
Cheers

P.S. If anyone sees a white 1996 Chevy C1500 dumped somewhere in the state of Michigan, that might be ours...blackmoonflowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16336415478527086185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5604312922967607928.post-87629299254143216872012-10-07T14:01:00.004-07:002012-10-07T14:01:38.016-07:00I...AM...EXCITE!So, I'm a huge Pokemon geek... And Black 2/White 2 came out today... AND I AM SO EXCITED! I've already bought both, plus the 3DS app called Pokemon Dream Radar which I haven't tried out yet. And it's October, one of my favorite months. You know why? HALLOWEEN! FAVORITE HOLIDAY EVAR!!!1!

But just because I'm booked with Pogeymanz and busy stuff in fall, doesn't mean I'm not still making my plushies. I've got a Halloween themed one in the works right now. I won't say what it is, but it should be done soon. :3

Also, I've been considering selling the patterns for some of my plushies. For those who want a plushie, but don't want to pay for one already made and know how to crochet. I've already got two patterns up on my Etsy. But for now, I'm off to the Pokemon world~

Until next time,
Cheers
I've been pushing so many things back, it's not even funny. I'm losing interest in things. It's not cool. But it's probably just because I've been busy with my job. Don't have a lot of time for much else anymore. Still, it's a bad habit, and I need to cut that out.

Buuuuut, I did finally get something done. Another plushie. Of teh pogeyman variety. :D

It's a Venonat! Cute little fuzzball, ain't it? If you click the picture, it'll take you to the Etsy listing for more info.

Until next time
I walked out to the living room and everyone was in front of the TV. I didn't really understand what I was seeing at the time, since I was only ten, but I watched a plane crash into two skyscrapers. That was the day the Twin Towers collapsed. And now I sit at my laptop, listening to Skylines and Turnstiles, a song written by My Chemical Romance that was inspired by the event. To everyone who lost loved ones on that fateful day, my heart goes out to you.

But this isn't just a post about painful memories and sadness. There's happiness, too. A few days ago, I was contacted for a custom order on Etsy, and I was ecstatic at the prospect. I made a $70 sale and felt proud of myself. Maybe all this self promoting is actually getting me somewhere and it gives me a little bit of new hope each time I see that someone's bought something I worked hard on to make it the best it can be. So I just want to thank everyone that's shopped at Moony's Plush Plaza. It's greatly appreciated.

Until next time.
Cheers
Being sick really sucks.blackmoonflowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16336415478527086185noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5604312922967607928.post-24240387302716538982012-09-04T22:27:00.000-07:002012-09-04T22:27:11.519-07:00Creepy Music, Plushies, and Awesome SodaWelp, it's 1 am. And what am I doing up at 1 am when I have work tomorrow and should probably be trying to catch up on sleep? Except not really because I'm a borderline insomniac... I am listening to the Lavender Town theme from the original Pokemon Gameboy games. THAT'S RIGHT, THE STUFF CREEPYPASTAS ARE BORN FROM. But it's not just the theme. It's one I composed to sound kind of like a music box. And it's creepy. But soothing. But still creepy. And you can listen to that right over HERE to fuel your own nightmares and creepypastas. Or because it's cool. I dunno.

And what am I doing while listening to this awesome retro creepy music? I'm making a new plushie. AND IT'S POKEMON RELATED! c wut i did thar? Well, technically, it's already made. Since I just finished it. And you should totally check it out, by the way. SHAMELESS PLUG YEAH!

Ahem. I apologize for that. I think I might have a bit of a sugar high. Why, you may ask?

...Jolly Rancher soda. Yes. This is like the best thing ever. Tastes pretty much just like the candy, but in that carbonated liquidy sugary goodness that fuels the sleepless nights of gamer geeks. This particular one I have right now is Green Apple and it is delicious. And is making me hyper.

I'm really hoping that all my blog posts won't be late night sugar-fueled babbling...

Okay, I'll shut up now. Until next time!
I'm hoping I can actually stay motivated with this one and keep it updated fairly often.

The purpose of this blog is to have a place for me to spill my thoughts, ideas, and my crafty hobbies (there may be advertising for Etsy listings, so don't shoot me, please). You may find me rambling on about anything ranging from video games to music to anime to movies to websites to various art mediums and styles. Maybe even politics or religion. PFFFFFFFFFFFT. Yeah, probably not those last two things. I may even post patterns and other freebies for all you peeps out there.

Do keep in mind that everything I may talk about in future posts are my own opinions. That doesn't make them right or wrong, or more or less important than your own. I encourage people to comment and state their own opinions or corrections, preferably in a calm and well educated manner so that there's no pointless fighting on teh interwebz. If you're going to troll, do it somewhere else, okay?

As I stated previously, this will also most likely be used for advertising space. I have a deviantART page found HERE as well as an Etsy shop found HERE. I'll just occasionally link or talk about new things I've added to either site to get attention for myself.

Also, I'm a really big Pokemon nerd and there may be gushing. I apologize in advance.

So, without further ado...let the blogging begin.
Cheers.blackmoonflowerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16336415478527086185noreply@blogger.com0
